Build History

  • 04/21/2006 – Purchased Estes #2123 Eggscaliber from HobbyLinc for $10.79 (Retail $16.98).
  • 04/29/2006 – Took pictures of package and components. Scanned plans, fin sheet, and photo card. Measured componets and recordd in Book #3 Page #16. Sanded fin edges with emery board. Measured engine mount at 1″ and 2-1/2″. Cut a 1/8″ slit at the 2-1/2″ mark so the engine retainer end would fit. Glued engine block flush with forward end. Glued centering rings onto engine mount tube near forward end. Inserted engine retainer into slot and slid retainer ring over engine retainer. Glued notched centering ring over engine retainer near the aft end of the motor mount tube. Filleted centering ring joints with yellow glue. Marked fin and launch lug reference lines on body tube. Made a 1/4″ mark on the end of the yellow engine spacer tube and used it as a guide to install the engine block into the engine tube. For the 24mm engine tubes, Marked them, cut slits and installed the engine retainers. Glued the black engine holder tube 1″ from the aft ends. Glued the fins along each reference line and the launch lug on its reference line. Filleted joints.
  • 045/03/2006 – Applied first coat of Krylon gloss black spray paint.
