  • 01/28/2020 – Purchased Estes Vapor from Hobby Lobby for $14.99 (Retail $14.99).
  • 01/28/2020 – Purchased Estes Vapor form Hobby Lobby in Columbus, IN for $8.99 (Retail $14.99)
  • 02/21/2020 – Took pictures of package and contents. Scanned contents of package. Made copy of page 2 of original instructions and cut out tube marking guide and shock cord mount. Measured engine mount at 1/2″ and 2″ from aft end. Glued centering rings to 1/2″ mark and even with forward end. Marked body tube with fin and launch lug lines. Extended lines length of body tube.
  • 02/22/2020 – Glued motor mount assembly into aft end of body tube so it is even with aft end. Sanded fin sheet with 220 grit sandpaper. Removed fins from fin shock sheet and sanded edges smooth. Rounded leading edge of fins. Glued fins to body tube even with aft end. Marked tube coupler in half and glued into upper body tube. Cut launch lug in half and glued one even with aft end of body tube in line with launch lug reference line. Glued other launch lug 12″ from aft end and long reference line. Glued fins to body tube and even with aft end. Glued lower body tube to upper tube coupler. Glued shock cord to mount and 2″ inside forward end of upper body tube. Filleted fin joints. Tied end of shock cord to nose cone. Epoxied engine retainer to motor mount with Harbor Freight Epoxy Super Weld.
  • 07/22/2021 – Spray painted white primer on model.
  • 10/09/2023 – Sanded balsa fins with 120, 220 grit sandpapers and sanded entire model with 600 grit sandpaper. Spray painted entire model with Krylon #2709 Gloss Icy Grape.
  • 10/10/2023 – Spray painted again with Krylon #2709 Gloss Icy Grape.
  • 12/14/2023 – Cut decals from decal sheet and applied water slide decals to model using photo card as guide. This completes construction os Estes #7294 Vapor model rocket. Took pictures of finished model rocket.
