Build History
- 11/29/2019 – Purchased Estes #7244 Indicator from Estes for $4.97 (Retail $16.99).
- 12/07/2019 – Took picture of package.
- 02/14/2020 – Opened package, scanned and took pictures of contents. Sanded balsa sheet with 200 grit sandpaper. Made copy of page 2 and cut out guide and shock cord mount. Glued fin parts together. Marked motor tube at 3/8″, 3/4″ and 1-3/8″. Cut a 1/8″ slit at 1-3/8″ mark and installed engine hook. Glued engine retainer ring at 3/4″ mark. Removed centering rings from card stock and glued one at 3/8″ mark and other at forward end of motor mount tube. Marked larger tube with fin and launch lug guide. Glued lower body tube fins to guide marks. Used guide to mark smaller diameter tube and glued fins t it and adapter. Adapter was cemented to aft end of smaller tube.
- 02/15/2020 – Filleted fin joints. Glued launch lug to larger body tube at 3/4″ mark from forward end and even with aft end along launch lug reference line. Filleted launch lug joints. Glued engine mount into aft end of larger body tube. Cemented transition to larger body tube. Applied masking tape around nose cone shoulder. Glued shock cord to mount and then inside by at least 2″ of the forward end of small body tube. Tied end of shock cord to nose cone.
