Build History

  • 08/22/2018 – Purchased Estes Alpha VI from Estes for $14.99 (Retail $14.99).
  • 11/16/2018 – Took pictures of package and components. Scanned decal, engine block, ring, shock cord mount, fin sheet and plans. Measurements on page 38 Book #4.
  • 11/20/2018 – Scanned page 1 of plans and cut out shock cord mount. Measured motor mount tube at 1″ and 2-1/4″ from aft end and cut a 1/8″ slit at 2-1/4″ mark. Inserted engine hook into slit. Glued slotted green centering ring to aft end of motor mount tube. Glued mylar retainer ring onto 1″ mark. Glued other centering ring onto other end of tube. Glued launch lug to aft end of body tube. Screwed screw eye into base of balsa nose cone. Glued shock cord to mount and inside forward end of body tube about 1-1/2″. Applied self adhesive decals. This completes construction of Estes Alpha VI model rocket #1958.
