Build History

  • 08/15/2002 – Purchased Estes Rampage from Rocket Gals for $8.25 (Retail $12.99).
  • 09/21/2002 – Took pictures of kit, opened it and took pictures of components. Scanned decal and plans. Measured various components and recorded on page 16 Book#2.
  • 09/22/2002 – Started construction after inventory was complete. Found all parts included in kit. Cemented black plastic front and rear engine rings to blue engine mount tube. Cemented shock cord attachment to orange body tube using the mount lock. Placed the mount into the square hole near the top of the body tube. Applied cement to the mount lock and using a pair of needle nose pliers tried to slip the lock over the shock cord mount groves inside the body tube. The first attempt failed and had to remove the lock from inside the body tube. with pliers. Also had trouble with the second attempt, but on the third attempt was able to get the prong of the lock started in the groves and finish pushing in place. Cemented the engine mount section with the launch lug opening to the engine tube. Cemented the second and third sections in place. They fit together really good. Cemented the engine mount assembly into the body tube assuring the fin and launch lug slot were aligned with each other on the body tube and engine mount. Cemented the fins in place. Tied a knot in the shock cord at one end and pulled through till it stopped at the slot.
