Build History

  • 10/03/2015 – Purchased Estes Flip Flyer from Hobby Lobby in Columbus, IN for $11.39 (Retail $18.99). Took pictures of package and contents. After opening package, took pictures of all parts and determined all were in the package.
  • 10/04/2015 – Scanned parts, decal sheet and instructions. Assembled motor mount halves with CA medium (Extreme Power). Marked a center line on main body tube and measured 1.5″ from aft end for launch lug placement. Punched a hole through the body tube wall and CA’d it in place. Applied the reinforcement decal over the launch lug and onto the body tube. Marked the tube coupler midway and glued it to the upper body tube. Rolled the clay and pushed it inside of the nose cone. Applied medium CA over it. Applied cement to nose cone base and attached it to the nose cone. CS’d the motor mount/fin can joints. Glued the green adapter ring 1″ inside the aft end of the upper body tube. CA’s the heli blade ring to the aft end of the upper body tube. Attached the blades to the fins using the pins and pin holders. Used CA inside the pins to hold in place. Applied the self-adhesive decals. This completes construction of Estes Flip Flyer model rocket #2416.
