Build History

  • 04/29/2010 – Purchased Estes Gold Strike from Hobby Lobby in Columbus, IN for $9.59 (Retail $15.99).
  • 05/18/2010 – Took pictures of package and components. Cut slit in body tube 2″ from aft end and placed launch lug piece in hole. At dent caused by upper piece of launch lug, made another slit and hole to accept the launch lug pin. Epoxied the launch lug to body tube at holes. Assembled fin can with 5 minute epoxy.
  • 05/20/2010 – Cemented fin can in place with Testors.
  • 05/21/2010 – Cut out shock cord mount from copy and glued shock cord in it. Glued shock cord assembly inside forward end of body tube by at least 2″. Removed self adhesive decal and applied to model. This completes construction of Estes Gold Strike model rocket #2430.
