ESTES Model #2053

Description

Estes GBU-24 PAVEWAY III (#2053) flying model rocket kit was introduced in 2003, production of this kit extended through 2005. A single-stage rocket is a semi-scale model of the GBU-24 Paveway III laser-guided bomb designed by Texas Instruments in 1980 and manufactured by Raytheon. In service with the USN, USAF, USMC and NATO forces, the Mark 84 warhead is a 2,000lb bomb. The weapon homes on pulse-coded laser energy supplied by the delivery (or other) aircraft or by ground laser. Because PAVEWAY is not a powered weapon, its range depends upon factors such as aircraft speed, altitude, wind speed, and angle of attack.
