Wildman Project Pack

Description Make your own creation with this project pack made from fiberglass parts. Included are a 3″ body tube, a 3″ payload section, a 3″ nose cone, a tube coupler and several bulk heads and a fiberglass sheet.

Build History

• 03/26/2011 – Purchased Wildman Project Pack from Wildman for $100.00 (Retail $100.00)
• 11/05/2019 – Took pictures and scanned components. Measurements are on page 52 Book #4
• 11/08/2019 – Epoxied centering rings to forward and aft edges of motor mount tube. Sanded forward centering ring so the shock cord will fit over it. Epoxied 4-3/4″ of shock cord to forward end of motor mount tube. Wrapped with black electrical tape. (25′ of green 1″ shock cord. Epoxied motor mount assembly into aft end of main body tube. Epoxied end disk and eye bolt into upper body tube.
• 11/09/2019 – Ran a bead of epoxy around end disk and engine retainer body tubes.
• 01/15/2023 – Finished cutting on of the fin slots in body tube.
• 01/19/2023 – Cut out final two fin slots with Dremal tool and cutting disk. This made cutting slots much easier than previously. Epoxied first fin into slot which was cut too long. Filled excess slot area with contour putty.
• 01/20/2023 – Shaped cardboard to match body tube contour and smoothed contour putty. Epoxied remaining three fins through body tube slots and onto motor mount tube. Filleted adjacent fin joints with epoxy thickened with micro balsa filler making a paste like substance.
• 01/21/2023 – Filleted remaining sets of adjacent fin joints with thickened epoxy paste.
• 04/06/2024 – Spray painted fins and lower half of lower body tube with Krylon #1708 Gold Metallic, middle body tube with Rust-oleum #334825 Gloss Berry Pinkj and nose cone with Krylon #3928 Purple Shimmer.
• 04/07/2024 – Masked lower body tube and spray painted upper half of lower body tube with Krylon #2709 Gloss Icy Grape.
• 04/12/2024 – Drilled 2 holes into lower body tube with a #32 (0.120″) drll bit. Using a fine tap bit, tapped each hole. Applied epoxy into holes and screwed 1010 rail buttons into body tube. This completes construction of Wildman Project Pack High Power model rocket.
