Build History

  • 02/25/2003 – Purchased Estes Shuttle Xpress from HobbyLobby for $9.09 (Retail $12.99).
  • 06/14/2003 – Took pictures of package and parts.
  • 06/15/2003 – Took pictures of individual parts. Cemented motor mount together. Cemented fins to motor mount. Cemented lower body tube to fin unit. Cemented adapter to lower body tube. Should have cemented lower body tube so nose and fin pattern were in line with launch lug. This way it would be correct when adapter was lined up with launch lug. Cemented upper body tube adapter. Glued shock cord to mount and then inside of upper body tube adapter at least 1″. Tied the shock cord to nose cone. Added decals to shuttle. Glued holding hooks to underside of shuttle in the provided slots. glued rudder to top inside the slot. Applied decals to wing. Bent wing in middle. Removed tape to expose adhesive on wings. Attached shuttle fuselage to wing. Added snap swivel to parachute. This completes construction of Estes Shuttle Xpress model rocket #2183.
