Build History
- 03/15/2001 – Purchased Estes Omloid from Nchobbies for $14.49 (Retail $15.89)
- 12/15/2001 – Opened box and found all parts were included. Scanned plans, decal, and parts. See page 104 Book #1 for dimensions of various parts. glued engine mount assembly together. Cemented launch lug to engine mount. Cemented four fins to engine mount. Cemented short blue tube to engine mount. Tied shock cord to cross bar of tube adapter and glued other end to blue tube. Lined up launch lugs with a rod and cemented in place. Ran shock cord through blue tube and glued longer to to other end. of tube adapter. Cut out loop of egg cone bottom and tied other end to eyelette. Affix self adhesive decals. Assembled 12″ color parachute. Cut out parachute along dotted lines. Cut shroud line into three equal pieces. Attached reinforcement rings to parachute corners and punched holes in each. Tied shroud lines to consecutive holes forming a loop for the three lines. Affixed a snap swivel to the shroud lines. A second 18″ parachute was built for the payload section so the egg would not be broken upon landing. This completes construction of the Estes Omloid model rocket #2078.
