Build History

  • 06/25/1999 – Purchased Estes Alpha IV #1258 from Hobby Lobby in Monroe, LA for $9.99 (Retail $10.99).
  • 01/27/2001 – A check of the parts found them all to be there. Measured 1″ from the end of the motor mount tube for the placement of clear ring. Measured 2-1/4″ from the aft end and cut a 1/8″ slot for the end of the motor clip. Placed the motor clip into the slot and glued the split ring to the end of the motor mount tube. glued the top adapter ring to the motor mount tube next to the motor clip forward end. Inserted motor mount assembly flush with the rear of the plastic fin assembly. Glued the body tube to the centering ring and fin assembly. Cut out the shock cord mount and glued shock cord to it. Glued it to the inside of the forward end of the body tube by at least 2″. Tied the other end of the shock cord to the screw eye in the nose cone. \
  • 01/28/2001 – Removed decals and applied to model as per instructions. Modified attachment of launch lug by using epoxy to attach it to the body tube. This completes construction of Estes Alpha IV model rocket #1258.
