Build History

  • 04/04/1999 – Purchased Estes Heatseeker AGM-57X from Walmart in Seymour, IN for $7.96 (Retail $9.99)
  • 01/27/2001 – Opened kit and noted all parts present. Made the engine mount assembly by cementing the rear and front centering ring to the engine mount tube, adding engine clip to tube and cementing the engine mount section where fins are attached. Glued the assembly into th4e body tube so the lunch lug hole is up with the launch lug holes. Removed plastic parts from their tree. Cemented the three red plastic fins onto the slots. Cemented the launch lug in place. Cemented the nose cone and tube coupler to the white payload tube.
  • 01/28/2001 – Applied self adhesive decals. This completes construction of Estes Heatseeker model rocket #2158.
