Modeled to resemble an Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile, the Quest Penetrator Quick Kit looks every bit the part. At 38 inches the Penetrator model rocket is one of the longest of the Quick Kit fleet and is quite a sight lifting off the launch pad! The Penetrator model rocket quick kit can be ready to fly in 45 minutes.

Build History

  • 02/25/2003 – Purchased Quest Penetrator from Hobbylinc for $8.09 (Retail $9.99)
  • 03/25/2003 – Measured fins, nose, body tube, white & yellow shock cords and motor tube. Traced nose cone and fin on page 56 Book #2. Started construction of the kit. Tied white elastic cord and yellow Kevlar cords together at one end 1″ from end with a knot. Tied free Kevlar end to slot in black motor housing. Placed gray motor tube over the tab in on half of motor housing and then cemented halves together. Cemented the lower orange body tube to the motor housing and then cemented the fins to slots in motor housing. Cemented lower and middle orange body tubes together using the black tube coupler. Used a piece of launch rod to assist with line up. Cemented bast to transition. Cemented upper orange body tube to transition. Attached 6 gripper tabs to each corner of 2 parachutes. Tied shroud lines to holes and then tied shroud lines to a snap swivel.
  • 03/26/2003 – Placed decals on model. This completes construction of Quest Penetration model rocket kit #1618.
