Build History

  • 02/25/2003 – Purchased Quest Full Moon from Hobbylinc for $5.69 (Retail $6.99)
  • 04/24/2003 – Tied white elastic shock cord to yellow Kevlar cord and tied Kevlar cord around engine block. Glued engine block inside forward end of engine tube. Glued centering ring over taped engine holder and second centering ring to engine tube. Filleted aft side of centering ring joints.
  • 04/25/2003 – Filleted other side of centering ring joints
  • 04/26/2003 – Glued engine mount assembly into body tube and filleted aft centering ring joint. Cut out tube marking guide from copy.
  • 04/27/2003 – Sanded each of the three fins. Glued first and second fins to body tube using guide line established from marking guide.
  • 04/27/2003 – Glued remaining fin. Filleted all three fin joints.
  • 07/01/2003 – Coated first balsa fin will balsa filler.
  • 07/08/2003 – Sanded fin with 400 grit sandpaper.
  • 07/10/2003 – Coated second fin with balsa filler.
  • 07/12/2003 – Sanded second fin with 400 grit sandpaper.
  • 11/22/2003 – Spray painted nose cone with Krylon Gloss White #1501. Spray paint rest of model with Krylon Banner Red Gloss #2108.
  • 11/24/2003 – Glued 2″ launch lug 2″ from aft end of body tube.
  • 11/31/2003 – Spray painted launch lug and all but nose cone with a coat of Krylon Gloss Banner Red #2108 after fillets dried.
  • 12/01/2003 – Applied decals and took pictures of completed model. This completes construction of Quest Full Moon model rocket #1016.
