Build History

  • 06/13/1999 – Purchased NCR SA-14 Archer from Hobbylinc for $59.89 (Retail – $79.99)
  • 12/04/2002 – Open kit, took pictures and scanned decals.
  • 12/05/2002 – Took pictures of parts and logged in measurements of parts on page 44 Book #2.
  • 12/06/2002 – Sanded centering ring hole to fit 29mm motor tube. Epoxied rear centering ring in place.
  • 12/22/2002 – Epoxied middle centering ring into position after marking it with fin fitting and fin line to slot fits. Epoxied forward centering ring 1/2″ from forward end of motor mount tube. Filleted other side of forward centering ring.
  • 12/23/2002 – Spread epoxy at 16″, 4-1/2″ and 3/4″ from rear of body tube inside body tube. All fins were test fit very well into motor mount assembly. Secured gorilla cable to forward centering ring.
  • 12/24/2002 – Cut 34″ strake sheets into 17″ sections. Marked 1″ off bottom edge of each side for a 15″ length using a box cutter. Cut the strakes along a line drawn between the edge and 1″ from the edge to make a strake that mearures 17″ on bottom and 15″ on top. Sanded ends to the same ltngth. Taped root edge on all four fins. Using the dremel tool and sanding drums, rounded the leading edge and tapered the trailing edges of the fins before tapeing.
  • 12/25/2002 – Cut tape holding strakes together and removed all tape except on root edge. Epoxied tube coupler into lower body tube. Epoxied upper body tube over half of tube coupler.
  • 07/20/2003 – Sprayed fins and strakes with Krylon Gray Primer.
  • 07/24/2003 – Sanded with 400 grit sandpaper, fins and strakes.
  • 08/05/2007 – Filleted fin joints with 5 minute epoxy.
